Tips for entering simple equations, special characters and symbols / Conseils pour insérer des équations simples, caractères spéciaux et symboles

The abstract text window will accept simple html tags for inserting special characters and symbols, Greek letters, etc. The tags will be converted  so that your text should show correctly in the Abstract Preview window that appears when you click "Next". If not, you can come back and edit it.

For superscripts or subscripts, copy and paste the following code ^? or _?, then replace the question mark by your index. For italic, use ?. If you use special symbols, make sure the symbols show up properly in the Display View of your abstract; we do not guarantee results.

The following table shows the pattern for the tags. You can use this pattern for other letters or cut and paste from the second column if your symbol appears there. Other symbols can be found at http://www.htmlhelp.com/reference/html40/entities

 La fenêtre pour le texte du résumé acceptera des étiquettes html pour insérer des caractères spéciaux, lettres grecques, etc. Les étiquettes seront converties dans le texte qui seront visibles dans l'Aperçu du résumé qui apparaîtra en cliquant "Continuer". Si le symbole n'apparaît pas, vous pouvez reculer et le changer.

Pour former des indices supérieurs ou inférieurs, copiez et collez le code suivant ^? ou _?, puis remplacez le point d'interrogation par votre indice. Pour l'italique utilisez ?. Si vous employez des caractères spéciaux, assurez-vous qu'ils apparaissent correctement dans l'aperçu ; nous ne garantissons pas les résultats.
