Shannon graduated from the Royal Military College of Canada (as a Civilian) in 2009, through her connections with CMOS, landed a job with DFO at the Bedford Institute of Oceanography. She’s been working for DFO ever since on various projects. She’s now a project coordinator for the Barrow Strait Monitoring Program. She enjoys working, going to sea, playing soccer and ultimate frisbee, and spending time with her family, Mike (husband), Leah (5) and Alex (2), and Jackson (her Saint Berdoodle).

Shannon joined the CMOS Halifax Centre executive as the social coordinator in 2010 and is now Chair of the Centre. She was the social coordinator for the CMOS Congress in 2018, and the Chair of the Organizing Committee for CMOS Congress 2023.
