CMOS Ottawa Centre
IMPORTANT INFORMATION BELOW (for COVID times)
The Ottawa Centre is comprised of about 90 CMOS members. During COVID restrictions we are planning monthly virtual meetings for the 2020 / 2021 Season.
Our meetings are open to members and the public, but it is important to be on our email list to receive the Zoom co-ordinates for each meeting. Meetings will be planned at lunch time - to sign in via Zoom - after 11:45 am followed by the presentation at 12:00 noon by an invited speaker, questions after and discussion. Occasionally our meetings will be joint with partner groups or societies. Outreach activities aimed at high school, university and post graduate students are a priority for the Ottawa Centre. We judge and provide prizes at regional science fairs in Ottawa and Gatineau
You can sign up to receive our Meeting Notices. Please click below and send the pop-up email, or manually send to jonesb@ncf.ca
SPEAKERS: Student trio (U Ottawa): Abby Dalton on glacier changes on SE Ellesmere, which would connect to Andrew Hamilton (post-doc) talking about glacier-ocean interactions, and then to Adam Garbo (MSc) talking about his work on validating and improving iceberg drift models in the CAA.
