8-Jul-2019 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM - Meteorological Service of Canada, will host an Open Data Forum

In Montreal on July 8, 2019, at the Phi Centre, closed to the Palais des Congrès, Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC), through theMeteorological Service of Canada, will host an Open Data Forum. The event will be held in parallel to the joint CMOS and IUGG general assembly. The aim of this event is to promote ECCC open data, get closer to the user community and increase our visibility. This will be a unique occasion to know more about external users and their needs.

Following the Forum, subject matter experts, developers, students and professionals alike, will be challenged to participate in an uninterrupted 48-hour hackathon, METEOHACK. The results of this competition will highlight how we can engage the public using innovative applications and through Earth science data and technologies. We think it is a good opportunity to take advantage of the CMOS and IUGG congress to promote as well this activity since a lot of people with geophysics, oceanography and meteorology experience could be interested in this event.

Further detailed information about the forum and the hackathon can be found at METEOHACK platform.
